The Match Makers 30 in all formed a bee line for the Match Makers get-together at the Rosario Church mini hall braving heavy rains and the tedious journey, some of them from as far as Mysore, Sagar, Puttur, Bramhavar, Niddodi and all the corners of Mangalore eagerly attended the get-together held on 7th August 2022 from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm. After the initial tea coffee and snacks we got into real business.

Rev Fr, Vincent D’Souza, Director of CODP began the programme by invoking God’s blessings on the smooth conduct of the Get-together.

Rev Fr. Alfred J Pinto, Vicar Rosario Cathedral, welcomed the gathering and introduced the dignitaries of the programme, Rev Fr. Naveen Pinto, Administrator, St Joseph Seminary, Mangalore; Rev Fr. Valerian Frank, Parish Priest Maril Parish; Rev Fr. Cyprian Pinto, Capuchin; Rev Fr. Anil D’Souza, Director, Family life Center, Mangalore and Rev Fr. Vincent D’Souza, Director CODP, Mangalore.

Rev Fr. Vinod Lobo, Assistant Parish Priest Rosario Cathedral announced the names of the Match Makers and the dignitaries thanked them with a Rose, giving due recognition to them for the services rendered to the Christian Community and the society at large.

Fr. Naveen Pinto having immense knowledge in field of marriage and match making, elaborated the essence of marriages and the problems and obstacles faced during match making with the help of PPT. He also explained the guidelines to be followed while making matches.

Fr. Valerian Frank with his vast experience of over thirty years in the family Life gave in-depth briefing on the recent trends of match making and the Pros & Cons of such trends.

Later Fr. Naveen Pinto, Fr. Valerian Frank along with Fr. Cyprian Pinto Cap. acting as the moderator on the panel discussion replied to the various queries from the audience regarding the hurdles faced during match making. Fr. Anil D’Souza suggested need to expand the network of match makers to the other neighboring Diocese.

It was unanimously decided to continue the whatsapp group and the inclusion of Fr. Anil D’Souza as the admin along with Mr. Clodius Lobo one of the match-Makers from Kodikal. It was also decided to include match makers from Karwar and other Dioceses to strengthen the network and later have one more Get-together and then decide the next course of plan and action to be taken.

Fr. Vinod Lobo was cheered and felicitated for effort and strain taken for the grand success of the programme.

Mr. Cyril Rosario, President, Society of St Vincent de Paul Rosario Conference gave the vote of thanks and Fr Vinod Lobo compared the programme.
