The feast of the Nativity of our mother Mary was celebrated on 8th September at Rosary Cathedral. The new corn was blessed by Rev Fr JBCrasta, the parish priest, at the Gladsome Home at Monkey Stand at 7.00 am. It was first time that the new Corn was blessed at the Gladsome Home. Prior to this a flower competition for the children was arranged and it was conducted by Fr Paul Sebastian D Souza, the Assistant Parish Priest. Many children took part in the competition. The winners will be awarded on the parish feast day celebration. The procession started to the Church soon after the blessing of the corn. A live tabulate our lady of Fatima depicted on the open truck. Many children of the parish took part in the tabulee. During the procession various choir groups sang hymns of our lady of the Rosary. Fr Paul Melwin D Souza OFM cap and Fr Vincent D’Souza took part in the procession. Once the procession reached at the Church the children gathered at front of the Mother grotto and offered flowers. The parish priest led the novena.
The Eucharist celebration was presided by Fr Melwin Paul D Souza OFM Cap. In his homily he said that our heavenly Mother is our protector. Our mother is the personification of God’s mercy and love for us. He also said that September 8th is dedicated to girl child. We must respect every girl, women and mother. The sodality girls and YCS students sang the hymns during the Mass. Frs, Rocky, Vincent and Paul concelebrated the Mass. Mr Alwyn Tauro took charge of arranging the tubule and procession. After Mass the new corn was distributed to all the people by the Gurkars. Sugar Cain and Sweet were distribuat all the parishioners. Mr and Mrs John Tauro and Divya of Bajpe Parish sponsored the sugar Cain, Sweets was sponsored by Kings Caterers and live Band was sponsored by Mr Harry D Souza. The liturgy was conducted by the girls Sodality. Many have appreciated the liturgy and the Choir. Fr J.B.Crasta proposed the vote of thanks. The procession and the whole liturgy and programme was planned by he Parish Pastoral Parished.
