The birthday and the feast day (St Aloysius Gonzaga) of our Bishop Rt. Rev. Aloysius Paul D’Souza was celebrated on 21st June 2014, at Rosario Cathedral. The Bishop offered thanksgiving Mass at 6.30 a.m in the Cathedral. There were nearly 50 priests along with the Bishop of Shimoga Rt. Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao concelebrated the Mass.
Rev. Fr. Alwyn Serrao, the Principal of Rosario College gave a few highlights of the day before the Mass. V. Rev. Valerian D’Souza, the Judicar Vicar gave a meangiful homily during the Mass.
In his message the Bishop said that, we need to be simple and humble as Pope Francis has a set an example to all of us. He thanked all the priests, religious & lay faithful for their cooperation and love for the Diocese.
Fr. J. B. Crasta the Vicar of the Cathedral, thanked. Msgr. Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General for his guidance and presence. V. Rev. Fr. Henry Sequeira the Chancellor, V. Rev. John Vas the Procurator, Mr. J. R. Lobo MLA, were present for this occasion.
After the Mass a breakfast was served to all the people present.
