Rosario English Medium Higher Primary School celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2022, Monday with great joy. The programme started at 9:30 A.M at Rosario Higher Primary School. The program began with a prayer song Vande Mataram sung by the Higher Primary students. Headmistress Mavis Serrao welcomed the Correspondent Rev. Fr. Alfred J. Pinto. Mr. Lancy Menezes, President of the Lion’s club and his wife Mrs Wilma Menezes who were the Chief guest of the day’s programme, Administrator Rev. Fr.Vinod Lobo, Headmistress, Retired Headmistress Mrs Jeanette Fernandes, Teachers, Parents and Students gathered there.
The Chief Guest and the Correspondent unfurled the flag. As soon as the flag was hoisted, everyone sang the National Anthem. Mrs. Shoby Francis highlighted the significance of the day. Jhanda Geet and Patriotic songs were sung by the higher primary students. Talking on the occasion, the chief guest, Mr. Lancy Menezes said the future of the country lies in the younger generation. Prizes were awarded to the students for the competition held for the day. The correspondent also gave a very motivational and patriotic speech. He said “All Indians have to be like brothers and sisters”.
A vote of thanks was given by the teacher Amritha, the master of ceremony of this programme. Refreshments for the students and staff were sponsored by Lions Club, Balmatta.
