The catechism day at Rosario Cathedral was celebrated on Febuary 28, 2016 was indeed a beautiful day where all parents and children came before the altar for the meaningful Eucharistic Celebration. Rev. Fr Paul Melwyn D’souza, Cap. celebrated the mass and we felt the divine presence of the Holy Trinity by the meaningful and thought provoking Sermon by the celebrant. V. Rev. Fr J.B. Crasta, Vicar and Fr Paul S. D’Souza, Asst. Parish Priest con-celebrated at the mass.
After the mass, light breakfast was served for all. Thereafter, there was a colourful cultural programme by the children from first standard to tenth. The mixed programmes such as singing, dance, skits and jokes added joy and thrilled the hearts of all. Everyone took active part in it. It was a fitting occasion to explore our children’s talents.
The dais was beautified by the presence of all the dignitaries, Rev. Fr. J.B Crasta, the president of the Programme, Rev. Fr. Paul Melwyn D’Souza, the chief guest, Rev. Fr Paul D’Souza, Catichism In-Change, Sr Antony Mary, Co-ordinator and Mr John D’Silva, Secretory, Parish Council were on the dais.
Sr Antony Mary welcomed the gathering and presented the annual report of the catechism followed by the speech of chief guest and the message from the president.
Two representatives namely Mrs Mary Pinto (Teacher) and Dr Roshel Tellis (Parent) who shared their experience. Then the prizes were given away to the winners in the quiz, exams and daily attendance.
Finally the day was spent meaningfully and happily in the presence of one another. Everyone was impressed by the beautiful arrangements done by Sr Antony Mary the co-ordinators and Fr Paul D’Souza, under the guidance of V. Rev. Fr J.B. Crasta.
Rev. Fr Paul D’Souza, Catichism In-Change, proposed the vote of thanks. Miss Rishel D’Almeida and Master Edric D’Silva were the masters of the ceremony. Thus the entire programme and activities came to an end at 1:00 p.m. with a sumptuous meal, payasam and Ice Cream.
